PARENTAL SUPPORT

The pre-school is a registered charity (number 1162154) and a non-profit making organisation, run by elected trustees on behalf of the members.  We also have a Parental Fundraising Committee that encourages parental support. Any ideas for fund-raising or comments about the group are always welcome. The group is partly funded by fees and government funding, but is also supplemented by fund-raising activities. We have a £2,500 fund-raising target each year to enable us to maintain our high standards.

FUNDRAISING

As part of our constitution, every parent/carer automatically becomes a member of our pre-school.

We would also welcome you to join our active fundraising committee which meets informally approximately five times a year to organise social events and fund-raising activities such as quiz nights, childrens christmas concert and our very popular sports day. It is a great way to meet other parents and raise money for your children.

All monies raised go directly into buying new resources.

Notice to Parents by the Department of Education to apply for support with childcare costs

From 2nd January 2024, eligible working parents can apply for 15 hours of childcare for their 2-year-old.  Parents have until 31st March 2024 to apply for a code, with mid-January to the end of February being the optimum time to apply in case they need to provide further information to support their application.

To apply for a childcare code each parent needs to be working and earning the equivalent of 16 hours a week at national minimum/living wage and under £100,000 adjusted net income per year.  This means that each parent needs to earn from just over £8,600 per year to be eligible for 15 hours a week of childcare during term time.

Their is more information on the childcare support available to parents on the Childcare Choices website, where you can explore the early education entitlement and other government help with childcare costs.
