Church Street, Teston, ME185AH
I have lived in Teston since 1997. I took over the role of preschool Manager in July 2013
I have 2 boys who came to this preschool and are both now enjoying their time at school. I have been working at the preschool for just under 6 years and completed my NVQ level 3 in August 2011. I was the chairperson of the local Toddler Group in Wateringbury and before that was actively involved in the school parent teacher association.
Most of my spare time these days is taken up with my boys sporting activities but when I do get a moment to myself I enjoy swimming and gardening - this year I am determined to eat my vegetables before the rabbits do!
Deputy Manager and Admissions Secretary
I have worked with children for over 30 years partaking in roles such as a nanny, teaching assistant within the private and public sectors and as a mother. I worked as a preschool assistant at Teston and Wateringbury for 11 years between 2001 and 2012. From 2007 I worked at both Brunswick House Primary School as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant within the Foundation Stage and at the preschool until 2016. Having experience across the whole of Early Years has given me a greater understanding of the needs and requirements of this important age group and the Early Learning goals.
Alongside my role as supervisor at the preschool I am also a massage therapist working from home in Wateringbury. When I am not working I enjoy cycling and spending time with my two now very grown up daughters who both attended the preschool and local primary school.
I have been working at the Preschool since 1996. I attained a Diploma in Pre-School Practice in 1997 and have attended numerous relevant courses over the years and have a First Aid Certificate. I consider my job to be one of the most worthwhile occupations. My aim is to provide a safe, stimulating and nurturing (and fun!) environment for the children whilst they are in our care. I want parents and carers to feel comfortable and happy to approach us about anything. I'm lucky to work with a great professional team.
I have worked at Teston & Wateringbury Preschool since 1998 and in 2000 I attained a Certificate in Pre-School Practice. I have also had training in first aid and child protection. I first got to know the pre-school when my children attended (many years ago!) and I never forgot how rewarding they found it. I now get a great deal of satisfaction from working with children of subsequent generations. I live in Wateringbury with my family and have done for many years. Some of my pastimes include walking and gardening.
I joined the team at Teston and Wateringbury Preschool one week after moving into my new home; January 2018.
I qualified as a Nursery Nurse in 2000 I then worked in a large inner London school, in the Nursery and Reception class for four years from 2000 to 2004. I then took up a post as a Community Nursery Nurse with the Health Visiting Team in Havering for thirteen years, from 2004 to 2017.
I believe all children have the right to reach their full potential. In my spare time I enjoy: Knitting, Gardening and Reading I have also been known to enjoy running!
I have been working at the pre-school since 2008. I have my NVQ level 3 in Childcare Learning and Development which has helped me understand more about the policies and procedures at the preschool alongside child development and welfare. I have had training in first aid and child protection and I hold the position as preschool risk assessment officer. I have lived in Wateringbury since 2004 and have 3 daughters.
